In the IP54 protection level of electrical cabinets, "IP" represents the marking letter, "5" is the first marking number, and "4" is the second marking number. The first marking number represents the contact protection and foreign body protection level, and the second marking number represents the waterproof protection level of the electrical cabinet.
The dustproof rating prevents the accumulation of harmful dust.
The waterproof rating ensures that liquid splashed onto the electrical cabinets enclosure from any direction will not cause harm or affect it.
SKYT® reminds everyone to note the following during testing:
When conducting tests, you can choose whether to apply negative pressure, which is similar to the IP6X test. This involves creating a negative pressure inside the product by extracting air.
Simulate a rainy environment with 360-degree rainfall testing to ensure complete coverage.
4 - Splash-proof: The electrical cabinets enclosure is protected against water splashed from any direction without any harmful effects.
5 - Jet-proof: The electrical cabinets enclosure can withstand water sprayed directly from any direction without any harmful effects.
It is important to note that the protection rating is not related to the explosion-proof rating. SKYT® can only advise that in situations requiring explosion-proof measures, higher protection ratings such as IP55 are often used, but the IP54 protection rating can also be utilized in explosion-proof environments.
